Batemans ELR50 Exhibition
August 1 @ 9:00 am - October 4 @ 5:00 pm
Make sure you visit Batemans Brewery Visitor Centre at Wainfleet between 1st August and 4th October for our centrepiece exhibition that has taken several years to plan.
Lincolnshire’s best-loved brewery, on the picturesque banks of the River Steeping is hosting a huge display to show you how railways have shaped our lives.
Marvel at the vast displays of railway memorabilia from every town affected by the mass British Rail closures in October 1970. Just as important, enjoy a pint or two of award-winning Bateman’s ales, and some high quality locally prepared food.
If you love old cars, buses and commercial vehicles you’ll want to visit Wainfleet on dedicated weekends to wallow in pure nostalgia. If you’re a dedicated railway enthusiast, we have film shows, lectures, visits by noted authors, a staff reunion, hopefully a model railway show, and even coach tours to former busy East Lincolnshire railway sites to see what they look like now.
Go to elr50c.co.uk for a full list of what’s planned for the ELR50 show. It’s regularly updated.
And why not travel to Wainfleet (and Skegness) by East Midlands Railway Train? There are regular services from Nottingham, with excellent connections from the large cities of Leicester, Derby, Birmingham and also South Yorkshire and London.
