Lincolnshire Wolds Railway – 50th Anniversary of the Closure Weekend
October 3 @ 9:00 am - October 4 @ 5:00 pm
A visit to the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway is a great day out for all family. Experience a steam train journey on a section of the original Great Northern Railway main line that carried expresses between Grimsby, Boston, Peterborough and London before its sad closure in October 1970.
The LWR currently operates between Ludborough and North Thoresby, but with your help and support will be extended another four miles southwards to the bustling market town of Louth. It owns the land, but it needs to relay the track, install signals and fences, and build new platforms.
As well as taking a return ride behind a class locomotive and its carriages, you can visit the museum, play park, station buffet and engine shed where engines and coaches are lovingly maintained and restored
A special feature from 29th August to 3rd October will be the visit of a large steam locomotive from another UK steam railway.
Make sure you check the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway.co.uk for the very latest information.
